Nights

A Night is when everyone near you turns up at once.

Once a week, everyone in a region who’s counted in opens Ether at the same time. You go live the way you always do, and for that evening the app gathers everyone near you who’s in the night, newest first. The North West goes first.

Count me in — get Ether

You put your name down in the app.

How a Night works

  1. Count yourself in.

On the Nights tab in the app, for your region’s next night. You do it each week, and the count is public and real.

  2. Go live the way you always do.

Record your ten-second intro from your profile, before the night or on it. Nothing about going live changes.

  3. Doors open an hour before the start.

Until it closes later that evening, the room shows everyone in your region who goes live, plus anyone counted in whose intro is already up. The start is when everyone turns up.

  4. Watch, spark, and see how it went.

Watching needs no intro, and nobody can start a chat with you unless you say yes. The next morning, the app shows how the night went. Real numbers, or nothing.

Discover works as it always does. A night just means everyone near you is on at the same time.

The rules.

  • Every number is real, or it isn’t there. Under ten, we show a band.
  • The night runs whatever the count.
  • The count is people. Never who, and never men and women.
  • You count yourself in each week. The count starts again after every night.
  • A region gets its night automatically. Once enough age-checked people there have put their name down, and they’re still in a day later, the night is set at least a week out, and everyone who put their name down is told.

Everyone, at once.
