About this page
Ether is a UK dating application and we take the safety of our community seriously. If something has happened to you on Ether or off-platform and you need help, the organisations below can support you. Most are free, confidential, and available 24 hours a day.
You don't need to tell us what's happened in order to use any of these services. If you do want to report something that happened on Ether, we describe how to do that in the next section.
Reporting something that happened on Ether
Every profile, chat, and video introduction on Ether has an in-app report button. Reports are reviewed by our trust & safety team and we take appropriate action — warning, suspension, or permanent ban — where our Terms of Service have been breached.
If you cannot use the in-app report for any reason, or if the matter is serious, you can also email us directly at contact@ether.dating.
For illegal activity, we strongly encourage you to report to the police as well as to us. Reporting to us is not a substitute for reporting a crime — the two are independent and a police report may be necessary for any criminal investigation.

How Ether keeps the platform safe
Ether operates under the UK Online Safety Act 2023 and takes a zero-tolerance approach to child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexual exploitation, and other illegal content. Every image and video uploaded to the platform is scanned by Amazon Rekognition Content Moderation before it is delivered to other users.
We operate a fail-closed system: if a scan cannot complete for any reason, the upload is blocked rather than delivered. Suspected CSAM is immediately quarantined, the uploading account is permanently banned, and incidents are reported to the National Crime Agency Child Exploitation and Online Protection Command (NCA CEOP). We may also submit reports to the NCMEC CyberTipline for international cooperation.
Ether also operates automated moderation for nudity, violence, and harassment, a human reporting and review system, fraud and romance-scam detection, and mandatory biometric age verification before any user can access the platform.
